AI visual search

Your customer points a camera. AI decides what to tell them.

Customers can now photograph a product on the shelf or a shop on the street and ask an AI assistant what it is, whether it is any good and where to get it. The answer depends on what the AI can find about you online. Geo One makes sure there is something accurate to find.

How it works

What happens after the photo

  1. 01

    The customer takes a photo

A product label, a menu, a shop sign. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google's AI Mode a question about it.

  2. 02

AI reads what it can see

It picks out the brand name, product name or shop name from the image. That text becomes the starting point.

  3. 03

AI searches the web for you

It looks for your website, product pages, maps listing, reviews and retailers, and builds an answer from whatever it finds.

  4. 04

The answer is only as good as your information

Clear, consistent information gets an accurate answer that says where to buy or how to visit. Thin or missing information gets a vague answer, or none.

Products

When they photograph your product

Illustration of a customer photographing a supplement jar and ChatGPT describing the product, its benefits, retailers and customer sentiment
Illustration. 'Your Brand' is a fictional example; ratings, reviews and retailers shown are not real data.

A customer holds up a jar on the shelf and asks: what is this, what does it do, and is it worth buying? A complete answer is built from the details you publish.

What the AI needs to find

  • The exact product name printed on the pack, used the same way everywhere
  • What it is, what is in it and how to use it, on a page the AI can read
  • Straight answers to 'is it worth it' questions in your FAQs
  • Where to buy it: your own store and the retailers you sell through
  • Genuine customer reviews on the platforms you sell on
Shops and outlets

When they photograph your shop

Illustration comparing two storefront photos: ChatGPT gives a full answer for a café with clear online information, and cannot identify a shop with none
Illustration. The Daily Bean is a fictional business.

Someone walks past a storefront and asks what it is. On the left, the AI finds a clear listing: what the shop is, where it is, when it opens and what it is known for. On the right, it finds nothing useful, and the customer walks on.

What the AI needs to find

  • A Google Business Profile under the same name as your signage
  • Address, opening hours and phone number that match everywhere they appear
  • A website that says clearly what you sell and who you are for
  • Photos, a menu or product range, and recent reviews
Who this suits

Is your business the kind people photograph?

Pick the closest match. Visual search matters most where a customer stands in front of the thing you sell.

Packaged products

FitStrong fit

What customers photograph

The pack on a shelf, at a friend's house, or in someone else's post. They want to know what it is, what it does and whether it is worth the price.

What the AI then looks for

  • The exact product name on the pack
  • Ingredients, usage and claims on your site
  • Where to buy, including the retailers you sell through
  • Reviews on the marketplaces you are listed on

Supplements, skincare, food and drink, pet care. The clearest case there is.

How Geo One helps

Make sure there is a good answer to find

Check what AI finds today

We ask AI assistants about your brand, products and outlets by name, the same questions a photo leads to, and record what they say and which sources they use.

One name, everywhere

The name on your pack or sign, your website, your maps listing and your retailer listings, made consistent so AI connects them to one business.

Product and FAQ content

Pages and FAQs that answer what it is, how to use it, what it costs and where to buy it, with product structured data AI can read.

Location clarity

Business profile, hours, address and structured data for every shop, so a photo of your storefront leads somewhere.

Measure the change

Scheduled scans show whether AI answers about you are becoming more accurate, and which sources they draw on.

AI assistants decide their own answers. We improve what is available for them to find and we measure the result. We cannot guarantee what any assistant will say.

FAQ

Visual search questions

Can AI really identify a product or shop from a photo?

Often, yes. ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Mode can read text in an image, such as a brand name on a label or a shop sign, and then search the web for it. What they say next depends on what they find.

What if my packaging or signage has no clear name on it?

Then the AI has less to work with and may fall back on similar-looking products. A clear, legible name on pack and signage helps, and it needs to match how you name yourself online.

Is this different from normal AI visibility work?

It is part of it. The information that answers a photo query is the same information that answers a typed one. Visual search just makes gaps harder to hide, because the customer is standing in front of your product or shop when the answer arrives.

Does Geo One test photo searches directly?

Our scanner tests typed questions about your business by name, which is the step every photo search leads to. We do not currently run image searches automatically.

Is this included in the plans?

The underlying work, including product and FAQ content, structured data, directory consistency and monitoring, is part of Bronze, Silver and Gold at the volumes each plan includes. Businesses with many products or outlets are scoped under Enterprise.
