What a Real Month of AI Visibility Work Looks Like

Top AI visibility agencies in Kuala Lumpur do four things every month: check that AI crawlers can reach your website, fix the facts about your business in your site code and across the web, publish content that answers the questions your buyers really type, and track what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity say about you. Geo One does that work weekly for Malaysian SMEs, priced from RM500 to RM2,000 per month. If an agency can't show you all four happening, you're buying ordinary content production with an AI label on the invoice.

This is written for professional services firms in Kuala Lumpur — law and accounting practices, clinics, dental and veterinary surgeries, and solo consultants where the person and the business share a name. It's a month of delivery, week by week, so you know what the retainer buys.

Two terms first. Generative engine optimisation (GEO) is the work of getting your business named and described correctly inside AI assistants. Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is the narrower job of shaping your pages so they can be lifted as the answer to a specific question.

Week one: can AI crawlers actually reach your website?

AI assistants read the web using named crawlers — GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and CCBot among them. If your server turns them away, nothing else you pay for will move the needle.

The block is almost never deliberate. It's a robots.txt copied from a template that disallows anything it doesn't recognise, or a security plugin set to challenge every visitor that isn't a browser. It can also be a site that only renders its text after JavaScript runs, which some crawlers won't wait for.

Cloudflare, which sits in front of many Malaysian SME websites, has replaced its single AI-bot toggle with separate controls for search, agent and training crawlers, and has moved towards blocking some AI crawlers by default rather than allowing them. The point for an SME owner is the same whatever the defaults are this quarter: the setting exists, it changes without asking you, and nobody at your company is watching it.

So week one is unglamorous. We look at your robots.txt file, your Cloudflare crawler settings, any firewall or plugin rules, and whether your key pages render without JavaScript. The deliverable is a one-page pass/fail: which crawlers reach which page templates, what's stopping the ones that don't, and who holds the login needed to fix it.

A law firm can have a good site, a decent Google ranking and still be a closed door to ChatGPT. That's a configuration problem, not a marketing problem. You can see how we sequence this in our GEO methodology.

Week two: are your business facts consistent everywhere?

AI assistants build a picture of your business by cross-checking sources. When those sources disagree, the model gets cautious and names someone else instead — usually the real reason an accounting firm in Bangsar never appears in an AI answer while a competitor does.

In Malaysia the contradictions are predictable. The SSM registered name doesn't match the trading name on the website. The Google Business Profile says Jln, the footer says Jalan, and the directory listing carries a unit number neither of them has. A clinic has two profiles because a former staff member created one and nobody can log in. To a human reader none of this matters. To a machine deciding whether these are one business or four, it is the whole problem.

The fixes are boring and they work. We make your registered name, trading name, address, phone number, opening hours and service list consistent across your website, your Google Business Profile and the directories that carry you. We add structured data — code that labels what a page is about so a machine doesn't have to guess — using schema types including Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage and Person for solo professionals.

No schema trick or llms.txt file buys placement on its own. Published tracking through 2024 and 2025 reported a rising overlap between AI Overview citations and top organic results, so strong organic foundations still do much of the work. GEO sits on top of proper search engine optimisation (SEO); it doesn't replace it. See GEO vs SEO.

Week three: content that answers what buyers actually ask

The content that gets quoted by an AI assistant answers one specific question in its first two sentences, with a number, a name or a limit in it.

"What does a probate matter cost in Kuala Lumpur and how long does it take?" is a page. "Excellence in legal services" is not. For a dental practice, "Do you take walk-ins on Saturday in Cheras?" is a page. We write these in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin depending on your clients, because a tuition centre in Kepong and a freight forwarder dealing with Chinese suppliers aren't asking in the same language.

What we don't do: mass-produce thin pages or manufacture fake mentions to game citations. Google's spam updates run across all languages, including Bahasa Malaysia, and Google has said its spam policies cover attempts to manipulate generative AI responses in Search. Shortcuts carry the same demotion risk link spam always did.

Week four: measuring across four engines, not one

A screenshot of ChatGPT naming your firm is not a report. It's one prompt, one day, one model.

Each AI engine is its own ecosystem with its own sources and habits; published data suggests only a minority of domains are cited by both ChatGPT and Perplexity. Being visible in one tells you little about the other three. Geo One monitors client visibility daily across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, against a fixed set of buyer prompts agreed with you at the start — service plus suburb, price and duration questions, and the "best X in KL" phrasings your buyers use, in the languages they use.

You get a weekly report showing which prompts named you, which named someone else, and what changed since last week. Movement is usually slow and then sudden. With Omega Pets, a pet care brand in Selangor, the AI visibility score we track moved from 0 to 30 between 8 and 22 August 2026. That's our own scoring scale, not an official figure from any AI company, and it's one client's result, not a promise about yours.

What a reputable agency in Kuala Lumpur won't promise

Nobody can guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend you. There's no ranking to buy and no placement to book, and anyone selling you position one in an AI answer is selling something they don't control. Geo One claims no partnership or affiliation with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Perplexity, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What can be promised is the work: the crawler audit, the entity and schema fixes, the content, the citation-building, and a weekly report showing what shifted. If the numbers don't move, you'll see that too. We don't build back-office automation, workflow tools or chatbots. Plenty of good firms in KL do.

What it costs and who it suits

Geo One is a GEO and AEO agency based in Kuala Lumpur, registered as GEO ONE AI SOLUTION (SSM 202603214063, LA0092283-P), founded in 2026. We work with Malaysian SMEs of 2 to 50 staff and with solo professionals. Programmes run from RM500 to RM2,000 per month, delivered by our own AI agents that scan, fix and report weekly, reviewed by a person before anything goes live on your site.

Month one is the heavy lift, because the crawler and entity problems are usually years old. After that the shape repeats at lower intensity: re-check access, re-check facts, one or two new answer pages, weekly reporting. Anyone quoting a flat monthly figure without a bigger first month either front-loads nothing or isn't doing the audit.

That range suits a firm with no in-house marketing team that doesn't want to hire one. If you already employ a full digital team, you probably want a specialist for the crawler and entity layer only.

Before signing with anyone, find out whether your site is readable by AI crawlers today: run a free check with the Geo One AI visibility scanner, see what a programme includes on our pricing page, or talk to us. If you don't need us yet, we'll say so.

Frequently asked questions

How much does AI visibility work cost in Kuala Lumpur?

Geo One's programmes run from RM500 to RM2,000 per month, delivered by AI agents that scan, fix and report weekly, with a person reviewing everything before it goes live on your site. Month one is the heavy lift because crawler and entity problems are usually years old. Anyone quoting a flat monthly figure without a larger first month either front-loads nothing or is skipping the audit entirely.

Why doesn't my business show up when people ask ChatGPT about services in KL?

The most common reasons are AI crawlers being blocked from your website, inconsistent business facts across directories and your Google Business Profile, and a lack of content that directly answers specific buyer questions. When sources about your business disagree, AI models get cautious and name a competitor instead. All three issues are fixable through a structured audit and cleanup process.

What AI crawlers should my website allow, and how do I know if they're blocked?

The main crawlers to allow are GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and CCBot. Blocks are almost never deliberate: they come from robots.txt templates, security plugins that challenge non-browser visitors, or pages that only render text after JavaScript runs. Cloudflare, used by many Malaysian SME sites, has separate controls for different crawler types and can block AI crawlers by default without notifying you.

Does AI visibility work replace SEO?

No. Published tracking through 2024 and 2025 reported a rising overlap between AI Overview citations and top organic results, so strong organic foundations still do much of the work. GEO sits on top of proper SEO rather than replacing it. Fixing entity data and publishing answer-focused content builds on your existing search presence rather than substituting for it.

Can an agency guarantee my business will be recommended by ChatGPT?

No agency can guarantee that. There is no ranking to buy and no placement to book inside any AI assistant. Geo One claims no partnership or affiliation with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Perplexity, and you should be cautious of any agency that does. What can be promised is the work itself: the crawler audit, entity and schema fixes, new content, citation-building, and a weekly report showing what changed.

What businesses is this kind of service best suited for?

Geo One works with Malaysian SMEs of 2 to 50 staff and with solo professionals, including law and accounting practices, clinics, dental and veterinary surgeries, and consultants where the person and the business share a name. The service suits firms with no in-house marketing team that don't want to hire one. If you already employ a full digital team, you may only need specialist help for the crawler and entity layer.
